It is possible to copy it onto your laptop with DVD Cloner software to remove copy protections.

You may try DVDSmith Movie Backup. It is a free DVD Copier with options to copy entire DVD disc or copy main movie only.

If the dvd and dvd contents belong to you. Then you can decide everything. If your dvd disk has protection, you can download one dvd copy software to remove the protection. And use it to copy to your computer. How to get one? Google"dvd copy" and click the first to download.

If you own a it, there's nothing wrong with copying it onto your PC. But if it's copy protected you'll need DVD ripping software that can decrypt it... Magic DVD Ripper can do this, but it's paid software...
