I want to transfer my songs, movies etc. from itunes on my computer to my samsung galaxy. Is that possible?

Yes, but not always. For AAC songs in a protected version, your phone may be unable to play.

iTunes does not work on Android by default, but doubleTwist may help you do that.
Download doubleTwist media player on your computer, it will mirror and load all content (Music library, podcasts, videos, playlists, etc.) from iTunes to their media player. With the app installed on your samsung, you will be able to load up the playlists, podcasts, or pictures to your Android phone.
